Hi there, I'm Dr. Alexandra Mohamadi, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

My story makes this work personal
I’m a fellowship-trained physical therapist and lifelong athlete who has lived with chronic pain myself. I was diagnosed with a chronic nerve condition years ago and, like many people, I spent a long time trying to "fix" it. But pain and disability, I’ve come to learn, are more than a mechanical issues. They are deeply personal, shaped by our history, our nervous system, and the meaning we make of our experiences.
In my doctoral program, I was lucky to receive a strong foundation in pain science, something many clinicians don’t get. I became fascinated by the physiology of pain, how little it correlates with tissue damage, and how much it is misunderstood in both medicine and rehab. Around that same time, I took a course on mindfulness for chronic pain and, for the first time, I saw the science behind what my father and yoga teachers had tried to introduce me to years before. That course was a turning point: mindfulness stopped being just an idea and became a daily practice that shifted both my emotional world and my physical experience.
Pain in Panorama is the integration of everything I’ve learned, from neuroscience to mindfulness to years of clinical practice and working with folks trying to live in a body they feel has failed them. It's built for people who want to understand their pain, work with it instead of against it, and begin to change their relationship to it in a sustainable, research-supported way. I have been offering this 8 week program to my own patients for years now, and I am so grateful to be able to share it beyond the walls of my clinic.
